The quick clamping system has received various designations over time, for example:
Clip, manual press, fastener, clamp (CLAMP -USA).

It originated in the United States of America in 1936. Today there are more than 100 manufacturersaround the world.

This mechanism consists of a three-point joint known as "knee or elbow action",which provides a mechanical lock (see figure below) that generates a retaining force contrary to the applied force, which is released only if actuated purposefully.

LOCKING MECHANISM

The retention force is proportional to the distance of the turning point (A) To the point of attachment of the tip (B / C).

The greater the distance between point A and the point of attachment of the tip, the least the retention force

EXAMPLE

CLAMP X

The retention force is proportional to the distance of the turning point (A) To the point of attachment of the tip (B / C).

distance AC: 135mm F1(specified at catalog) = 680 Kgf

distance AB: 90mm F2 = 680 x AC / AB = 680 x 135 / 90 = 1.020 Kgf
